I’ve finally chosen to start a blog, because even though no one asked me for one, I know for sure everyone is sick of me treating Facebook like one. I am someone who likes to share, and I wish everyone else did too so we could all learn from each other’s mistakes, instead of everyone just learning from mine. I tell everyone everything, I am not someone who is easily embarrassed by their improprieties, nor someone who is too humble to talk about their accomplishments.
I’ve always been a storyteller. I started writing short stories as early as nine years old, and nothing has since brought me more joy than having people read my work, and having them talk to me about it like it was an actual piece of work and not just something a twelve year old wrote in her free time.
Since college, however, writing has gotten a lot harder. The stories I try to write feel over-worked, not like the freely written pieces I wrote when I was younger and didn’t give a rat’s ass about the ‘proper’ way of doing things.
But you know what I have been doing, and enthusiastically at that; telling my everyday stories to my friends on Facebook. Everything from the dream I had last night, to a weird conversation with my parents, to a terrible, no good, very bad date I went on. Sometimes I forget how open I am that when I bump into people I haven’t seen or talked to in years, but have on Facebook, and they comment on my life on my life like they know me, I get almost. They think I’m funny too, which is obviously what I’m going for but always assumed I was only vaguely amusing.
That being said, here we are. I’m going to tell you guys everything; my stories, my hot takes, and shit you really don’t care about but might as well keep reading just to see if it has a point.
